A Day on Fanø
Spend a wonderful day exploring Fanø's beautiful nature, yarn, and natural colours.
We begin with a walk through the surrounding area to forage for the plants we will use for dyeing. Along the way, we hope to catch a glimpse of the sheep that provided the wool for our yarn.
Once we're back, it's time to light the dye pots. Together we'll create a solid natural dye using the plants we've collected, while also exploring different techniques for creating beautiful colour effects with botanical materials.
We have been kindly invited to use the dyeing facilities at Fanø Angus & Merino – surrounded by the sheep and the nature that provide both the wool and the colours for our yarn.
During the workshop there will be periods of waiting while the dyeing process takes place. We'll spend this time talking about plants, natural dyes, yarn, and experimenting…
